    Ireland-based Aer Lingus reportedly struck a deal with Alaska Airlines' frequent-flyer program so travelers who book flights with either airline can earn miles toward Alaska's Mileage Plan.
    Alaska Airlines cultivated similar arrangements with other international airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines and Icelandair, but the Pacific Northwest airline lost partnerships with strong European-bound carriers like Delta Air Lines, Air France and KLM.
